Poor quality, fell apart

I recently bought 4 of these and they are not as good as the last purchase. These 4 almost fell apart after the first wash. It is not the same material as the first order.

on two everything is in pills and little fluffy bits

I bought 8 of these (two sets of 4) and 6 of these work fine but after washing them once 2 of the 8 ended up with all these little cotton balls piling up. I think they still work decently as filter socks but I don't know why they break so easily after a wash.

Filter socks as good as I got from BRS

The same good filter socks as I got from BRS. These are felt socks, not mesh, which is good. $20 for 4 is a great price if you want to change your socks and then clean all your socks once a week, maybe even every two weeks depending on the size of the reef. Would recommend to anyone interested in adding more socks to their rotation.

The original let detritus through, and the replacement is now a 200 micron sock. Impressive customer service.

These filter socks are not 200 microns at all. The fabric is so thin in places that random 1-2mm holes may appear anywhere in the fabric. If you catch big debris it works but any small ones like detritus and this sock they just skip to the bottom of my swamp. I won't buy anymore. UPDATE: Encompass All sent me replacement filter socks made from a different felt material free of charge a week after I placed my order. The replacement was definitely an improvement and met my expectations for theโ€ฆ

Skimmers go mad and fall apart after one wash.

Where do I start. First, there's some kind of chemical on those filter socks that's driving my skimmer crazy. I followed the directions and gave it a thorough rinse in freshly made RO/DI water before installing it and every time I changed the filter sock my skimmer, which was set for a very dry skimmat, went completely nuts within seconds . It fills the drip tray in minutes. To stop this I would have to raise the skimmer from the recommended depth of 7 inches to 1 inch. And even then it stillโ€ฆ
