These filter socks are not 200 microns at all. The fabric is so thin in places that random 1-2mm holes may appear anywhere in the fabric. If you catch big debris it works but any small ones like detritus and this sock they just skip to the bottom of my swamp. I won't buy anymore. UPDATE: Encompass All sent me replacement filter socks made from a different felt material free of charge a week after I placed my order. The replacement was definitely an improvement and met my expectations for the advertised 200 micron socks. Excellent customer service. Would order again if the 8.5" (short version) had the new felt material that was on the replacement.
