I highly recommend that you let your pillows air out for at least 24 or 36 hours before using them if you are sensitive to odors. These pillows just aren't for me. They are too hard for me and do not open to take out the filling and adjust the filling. They are too high so my neck hurts after a few hours of sleep. I've had these pillows for a few months now and still use them at night. Arrived as described, tightly sealed. They started to expand as soon as the package was opened. "Smell" IS. It didn't really bother me, but it wasn't my favorite. It depends on your sensitivity how annoying it can be. I put them in the dryer as instructed and threw the dryer just in case.
