NEW VERSION - The GuideLight 2 has all the features you’ve come to love from The Original GuideLight, but now includes a Softly Diffused Light Bar for a elegant, beautiful pathway light.

A great idea; easy to attach to most outlets

this is a great idea because i like night lights but they take away the outlet wherever i put them. This device frees both sockets and has a light sensor so the light will turn off when it is on or there is daylight. It also has two settings - bright and mute, which is nice when you have a choice. Some of my outlets won't work with this, but I plan to replace those outlets. I think they are too old, or in one case the socket is wrapped with electrical tape on the inside making the contacts…

Great product, great price.

Extremely useful product. I've been using them for a few months now and they come in handy for those nights when I come home late and don't want to disturb anyone by turning on the lights. They're bright enough that you can easily see where you're going and use almost no power. The quality of materials is decent, probably a bit better than traditional socket/switch frames. The only criticism of this product is the price. I'd like to add them to more outlets in my house, but they can be a bit…

  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

I have no idea what outlet they are supposed to work for.

I honestly don't understand what sockets they are compatible with. They don't work in my whole house so I gave them to my parents (my house is very old and I thought my sockets weren't modern enough). They have a brand new house and they don't have an outlet in their house to work with. The claim that they fit into "most standard outlets" is completely false in my opinion, and I have two entire outlet houses backing me. I have a SnapPower Guidelight model for a different type of outlet that I…

Some adjustment is required, but they work.

They're not as bright as your standard night light, so if that's what you're looking for, keep looking. That being said, this was for a hallway where I used to use a night light when my kids were younger. Now that they are older we wanted something that would give them enough light to lead them to the bathroom at night without disturbing their sleep. . On the other hand, since they are designed for decorative sockets that are larger than normal duplex sockets, the contact tails compress a lot…

Overall a good entryway night light

Overall a good product. Super easy to install and does what it's supposed to. I mean it's an LED wall panel, it's not rocket science. I was a little surprised by the analog light response. For example, one of mine hangs on the wall next to the bathroom on the north side of my house; minimal sun exposure, also a bit dark during the day. The light becomes dimmer and brighter for seemingly minimal stimuli, such as B. someone walking in the bathroom or walking 10-12 feet down the hall in situations

Easy to install as long as it works well

I placed them in the second floor hallway. My little kid thinks they are very cool and thinks they are neat. My wife doesn't like too much light on dark evenings when she has to walk around the area, but she doesn't want the brunt of our bright overhead light. Installation was a 'click', although I have experience with general home repairs, none of my skill was required to simply undo the 2 cover screws, snap the light in place and replace the 2 screws. Anyone can do it. The light turns on when

Great night light but works 24/7

I've only had them for a few days, I've ordered 4 hoping they would work with the decorative light switch too but they only work on the Exit. I couldn't find it in the product information so I thought I'd post it. I think it's a great idea, great product, but I'm taking 1 star because it doesn't work as advertised. Mine just runs 24/7. I have one in my entryway at the bottom of my stairs and one at the top of the stairs, both have been on since I put them on. I would have bought cheaper if I…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • So so

That's a great guide light. It's easy to install and an ingenious invention. My biggest complaints are: 1) The cost of this guide light is prohibitive given the materials and components used. The inventor must work to reduce manufacturing costs. Night lights that do the same thing but plug into one of the outlets can be bought for a fraction of the cost. Until the cost is brought down to be competitive with alternatives I don't think this will become a mainstream product. An example is that…
