Works as described!

I have been looking for a contactor to turn an electric water heater on and off depending on my electric company peak hours and it is holding up great after being switched on 4 times a day weekdays for 5 months , 616 cycles total / off! This is a durable, well-made product; I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts for many more years. I actually bought a second one to have my parents install and they are fine too. It has already saved me over $100 in months of use! Overall, this was an easy purchase

I also installed a strip of red LEDs in the store that turn on when the compressor is pumping and turn off when it's full. If the LED strip stays on for too long I can go…

Pros
  • Will a battery be needed: incorrect
Cons
  • not reliable

I wanted to add a smart controller but there doesn't seem to be one ready for that purpose. I decided to try one of these smart relay switches to control a contactor that controls power to the water heater. I installed a smart relay switch, 220V 40A contactor with 110V coil and terminal block in the same box that the old mechanical timer…
