Not worth the money

Doesn't cut as smoothly as other brands I own. It was judged more on name than quality. I would get one from Walmart for a lower price, more convenience, and better quality.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • No instructions

The knife doesn't scratch, period.

I liked the way he cuts cakes. The knife is made of plastic and works well in a coated pan. The knife will not scratch the trays or trays.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Weak

Exactly what I needed!

The Pampered Chef Nylon Knife is designed to cut cakes, cornbread, etc. directly onto non-stick natural aluminum or other material that scratches easily. I've tried several other similar products but this Pampered Chef is the best as it makes clean cuts without leaving any marks on the pan. Winner! And the goods were delivered promptly.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Easy Repairability

Bakeware Protector

After recently cleaning the kitchen and selling extra cake pans and other bakeware, this is the first time I've really noticed how damaged my bakeware is when I put desserts and pastries directly into the cut pot. This nylon knife did it! Durable enough to cut through brownies and cakes and will definitely extend the life of my pans. Worth the price!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to say

Bakeware Liner

Having recently cleaned the kitchen and sold extra cake tins and other bakeware, this is the first time I've really noticed how damaged my glass baking tin is from cutting desserts and pastries directly into the pan. This nylon knife did it! Durable enough to cut through brownies and cakes and will definitely extend the life of my pans. Worth the price!

Pros
  • Dishwasher safe
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

A nasty sharp knife made by a reputable company!

This knife is exactly what I wanted. I used it on my new non-stick pan immediately after baking the dessert. No scratches from this knife! I have many Pampered Chef products and have always found good quality products. Because it is a non-metallic knife, it is very sharp; a bit pricey compared to other plastic knives but as they say you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • straight blade
Cons
  • I'm nervous

Not what we expected unless you want to cut a cake

I think I expected a little more from this. My son and I went to cooking classes where there were similar knives. They worked great and he could cut tough veggies and even potatoes. I was expecting it to be the same but I can barely get it through the celery and he was trying to saw through the carrots. I'm not entirely sure what we can use this with other than cakes and pastries. I'm not sure if this is anyone's fault, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything remotely complex.

Pros
  • cut soft foods including cakes right in a nonstick pan
Cons
  • Approximately
