best hard/road tire.

I have these on the front and rear of my 2008 Specialized Rock Hopper and use this bike as a road MTB bike. I love these tires, they roll really well and are fast and the cornering grip is fantastic. I was lucky when I chose the Panaracer and was looking for an outstanding hard tire because I got the right tires on the first try. I will always use the Panaracer Comet on my MTB road bike.

Great strong treads!: Cycling

Panaracer Comet HardPack Tires - 26" x 2.1 Clincher Black/Black These are from Revain My Purposes. I put them on both the front and the back. They were very easy to mount on the rims so no problem. They growl really hard on pavement, just so you know, but I have no plans to use them other than on pavement and gravel, which is what they were designed for. Maybe I'll post an update after a few miles, but so far they're exactly what I expected.

Good all-round tire at a good price

I ordered 2 of these tires for my mountain bike. It had Panaracer Dart (front) and Smoke (rear) tires which I replaced. But this tire configuration with specific front and rear tires was really aggressive and only suitable for trail riding. Unfortunately my typical ride these days is about 3 miles on pavement to get to the trail and then about 3 miles on a rocky trail. and tree roots or hard gravel and ash, depending on which direction I go in the trail system. So twice as long for a round trip

Pros
  • Sporty
Cons
  • Big and bulky
