Very disappointed with this product.

I was very disappointed with this product for a number of reasons. I bought it with AAA batteries and it's very inconvenient to put them in the charger. But that's a small problem, the real problem is the batteries themselves. The only thing I often use batteries for is a small but powerful flashlight that runs out quickly. These batteries, even when fully charged, are noticeably weaker than disposable batteries. That is 1.2 volts compared to conventional 1.5 volt batteries. Little did I know…

Pros
  • 4-position battery charger with enhanced single battery charging; charges both AA and AAA batteries
Cons
  • Very expensive

My old eneloops and Ni-MH Rayovacs have been saved! Speaking of the charger first of course, my old "semi-smart" eneloop charger (pair chargers only) let me know with flashing lights that my batteries are bad. And since I assumed chargers were supposed to last over 6-7 years, I almost thought my batteries were actually bad, but given that the old charger was telling me that most of my batteries were dead, I went ahead and bought this Panasonic / Eneloop charger and the fact that the charger is…

Pros
  • Battery detection technology - turns off automatically when charge is complete
Cons
  • I will add later

This review is for the charger NOT the batteries

I needed extra AAA batteries and got lucky with Eneloops. This time I noticed a pack of four batteries with a four position charger. The charger I use only works with two batteries at a time, so I thought it might speed up charging the batteries in a light that uses three AAA batteries. This is the WORST design imaginable for a charger: 1. The batteries are very loose in their slots and will fall out with the slightest movement. With other chargers, the battery snaps into place and you can turn

Pros
  • Charges up to 2100 times
Cons
  • Not bad but...
