Yes, you absolutely can use it for BB cups.

Before purchasing I asked if this could be used to remove BB cups and the guy said no. Well, he was wrong. My LBS uses this tool to remove BB and it works great.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Surface
Cons
  • Small Things

Does not work with dr-z 125 L

Very well made product. A solid and professional looking tool, but if there is little to no taper directly under the race then this tool will not work. I've tried modifying it to run but to no avail.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Just use a flathead screwdriver!

I only bought this tool to replace the steering rack bearing on my dirt bike and it kept slipping off the bearing race so I had to grind with a flathead screwdriver and it worked. I could see it work better on other types of races that have more lips.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • No Instructions

Solid processed tool, but.

The tool itself is fine. Good quality. Very difficult. But it was pointless for me to remove the old races from the tube. My old races were pretty much flush with the inside of the pipe so the tool never got a chance to grab them. He just glided over her. Maybe if the ends are bent a bit? I do not know. I ended up using a crowbar I had in my garage.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Great for workshop tools

A must have in a cyclist's toolbox! I have not used any of the cheaper alternatives to this tool. However, since the cost difference is not a concern to me, I choose Park as I have had very good luck with these tools in the past. Advice. cover the headset to be removed with a rag and put a rubber band over the head tube, rip it off and your headset will get caught in the rag and won't roll away.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

There's a lot to be said for having the right tool for the job.

OMG. I've tried smashing a few cups of a Specialized Mindset headset out of a 2007 Specialized Sequoia Elite using copper tubing, a long-bladed flathead screwdriver, and a piece of PVC tubing to no avail. Bit the bullet and bought this and both race cups flew out of the steering column in a minute. Super light pizza. It's cheaper to buy a tool than pay for the work. Thank you Park

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Headset shell dismantling standard

There are many headset standards on the market today, but the vast majority use cups that are pressed into the frame's head tube. And when it's time to change your headset, you'll need this fun-looking RT-1 tool to help you figure it out. With the RT-1 you simply insert the pointed tool head into the head tube and pull the four "legs" through. You then slide it back to the head cup and hit the top of the tool with a hammer and the head cup slides off the head tube. I have had an RT-1 for many…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
