upset. Cast coffee makers

This is the preferred method of making coffee and I am obsessed with it. However, it is very simple. The carafe is very thin. I'm trying to be careful, but it's a matter of time before it breaks. It took my chemex almost 10 years to crack it. The metal filter is the biggest disappointment. It's just not good enough. The water/coffee flows out way too quickly compared to the one I spent $22 on. I tried sanding rougher but it didn't make much of a difference. I have found that I need to use 50%…

#1 in the brewer range

When using a new brewer, finding the right grind size is the hardest part. I got a pretty good grind for this brewer right off the bat. Medium, like buying ground coffee. Controlling the flow rate with a metal cone was basically the same as using a paper filter if you have the right grind size. The finished product was a little different than the usual pour-over paper filters. More oil got into the coffee, making the final texture silkier. If you're worried about fine metal filter particles…

The built-in filter is ok. Apart from that good.

Works and of course easy to rinse off. If your coffee doesn't taste that great, it can be for a number of reasons, but my friends "always light it up" by pouring water over it as soon as it's boiling. Beginner mistake man, you have to let it sit for about a minute before flowering and chill it to about 20 degrees. Don't worry about potting technique either, just make sure you soak your soil EVENLY. The decanter holds a good amount, although not super insulated. The plug works fine. If I can…

Best coffee in the world, beautiful design

I am in love with this coffee maker. As soon as it arrived, it was taken out of the packaging and used. The coffee I brewed was the most delicious I've ever had. Soft, fragrant with a silky texture. Perhaps a steel filter lets through more good taste than a paper filter. The carafe is not as intoxicated as the more expensive competition (I broke 3 carafes from this manufacturer), feels heavy and has a nicely designed spout. The no-spray design seems to work. Arrived well packaged, with detailed

High quality: kitchen and dining room

This is a high quality coffee maker. The glass is thick and has some weight, giving it a sense of durability. The filter also appears to be of very high quality and much thicker than those I've seen before. It is very durable and filters coffee and even some oils well. I usually prefer coffee with a paper filter, but the metal strainer did its job well and even trapped some oil. The instructions recommend washing the dishwashing filter to ensure all oils are removed - something I will…

All in one package (just add ground coffee and water)

This is a Chemex coffee maker so it looks good even without the coffee. It comes with a coffee maker, a stainless steel filter and a lid. Slightly unexpected, but nice, is the addition of cup size markings on the glass itself, labeled in ounces (!). That's right - you don't even have to guess what they mean: 5 ounce mug, 5.5 ounce mug, 6 ounce mug - it's straight to the point without the guesswork. The filter works great! I've heard from others that metal filters leave a lot of sediment on the…
