Great product to replace cheap epoxy.

The air stone looked great in the box but when I connected it to the air large bubbles came out of a spot near the fitting. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the epoxy had cracked around the entire perimeter of the stone. I would have sent him back, but I urgently needed oxygen in the carp pond. I removed the crappy epoxy and did the job myself. Now works as advertised would give it five stars if I didn't have to do someone else's job.

Pros
  • Large size: 8" x 1" (D x H). Fits 3/8 inch (8mm) ID pipe. Will NOT fit standard 3/16 inch overhead conduit.
Cons
  • Socket required

The price seemed high, but the quality

If this were a typical Airstone I would give it 4 stars because of the price but the quality is very high, it is very heavy which is important for my purpose. Note the size of the fitting, I was expecting a smaller size and had to run to the hardware store to get some 5/16 hose and a 1/2" drill bit to fit the tub I'm

Pros
  • no longer floats: weighs 3 pounds and comes with 3 easy-to-install suction cups, so it can just be sucked to the bottom of the tank.

Be careful when choosing the size.

EDIT 1/21/2021 I'm sorry the stone didn't work for me after using it for an average of a month or two. Others may know if this seems like a reasonable lifespan for an Airstone, but I don't seem to have used it that much. Just so you know, I used it for compost tea (really organic nutrients and mostly earthworm droppings, but also pint of compost). I mostly cleaned it with a hose nozzle after each use. I cleaned it with a bleach solution and a wire brush about 3-4 times. So the failure may be my
