These cleats are only good as a last resort. They are too thin to get a proper crimp and I don't think they will properly conduct high currents. I had to add some extra wire to get the CAU high enough to get a decent crimp. If they will be installed in a location with high vibration or in a project where they will be removed and reinstalled frequently, I would recommend heavier lugs.

They're not bad, but not as good as sea supplies. When used with an upsetting tool, the thickness was not enough to give an idea of the caliber that tool made, but the same tool had no trouble with those bought at a nautical store, although, to be honest, so did the Price was a big factor so these are serviced on connections that don't need to be removed frequently.

I rewired my RV's solar system. For previous installations I have relied on tips from my local hardware store. Expensive! About a dollar or two per ear. On average, they cost 25 cents per lag. Also, these spades are quite light, which I consider an advantage since they're easier to crimp. They also come in a variety of sizes which is perfect for my setup as it requires spade lugs for 2, 6 and 10 gauge wire. I would highly recommend this product.
