Uncomfortable suede

These are my most uncomfortable pair of riding shorts. Fine for short distances, but I've learned the hard way that running 100 miles in it isn't a good idea. The suede is not sewn flush with the rest of the material, so the "overhang" of the fabric constantly rubs. Even with these shorts my ass was full of blisters.

Pros
  • Center bib clip allows front strap adjustment
Cons
  • Functionality

Very small very tight cycling shorts

Pearl Izumi make quality cycling shorts so I was very pleased to see these at a great price. I also received them quickly. However, they are so small and tight that I could barely fit them around my hips, so I ordered my usual size down. When I fought them the tag came off so I don't know if I can get them back. I think I lost money on this item.

Pros
  • Non-tight silicone leg grips keep the cycling shorts in place smoothly while riding
Cons
  • Problems

Good shorts for tights, trousers and shorts

These are good cycling shorts; I like the looser leg bandage. They feel a little tighter than I expected but I expect they will stretch with wear. The pads also feel hard - they're great on the bike but unwieldy when walking. Again, I'm hoping the pad will soften over time. I wear cycling shorts for years until they fall apart and stretch completely, so I might forget what a new pair looks like.

Pros
  • Machine washable
Cons
  • Negative impression

You have a very strange posture.

I love Pearl Izumi and this is my favorite brand of cycling shorts. This style seemed way off in the size department. I always take the XS from this brand, but I literally couldn't wear this pair below my knees! I also tried the S - which I could at least have tried on, but the leg straps were too loose and the padding was huge and very uncomfortable. They can fit your body perfectly, but these weren't enough for me. I'm sticking with the old design, which is what I like best.

Pros
  • SELECT Transfer Dry fabric sets the standard for compression, comfort and moisture wicking.
Cons
  • High price.

select vs elite on sportswear

Good quality, perfect fit. I wear Levi's 28 jeans and ordered the smaller ones. True to size. Feels good. The lining is soft and doesn't feel like I'm wearing a diaper. I put it on for a 20 mile ride and it was comfortable for the first 16 miles, after which my female part got a little sore. Maybe it's my seat height. Will have to try again. I also ordered the Elite version and used it on a 30 mile ride with the seat height adjustable. No pain with it. Compared to the elite shorts, the premium…

I recommend these bike shorts

Love these shorts. I agree with most reviews that these shorts run small for a standard US size. I knew to expect that because I bought my first pair of Pearl Izumi bike shorts from the store. I'm 5'7", athletic build and usually a size 6 or 8/medium. However, the large size suits me best. I typically ride my road bike up to 30 miles in one ride about 2-3 times a week and wear it every time. Although I've always been an athlete, I'm new to cycling. So I don't know all the brands and have no…

Not impressed good for cycling

First off, I'm 5ft 2in and about 165 pounds. I have a smaller/flat butt for my height and thicker thighs. I bought size XL. Pros: I love the way they look on my stomach because I HATE low rise pants or shorts. They curl up a bit when I ride, but I discredit my body for it. The material is smooth and smooth. Good padding in the buttocks. Cons: These are the reasons I docked the stars. Ad 1) The padding in the groin/crotch area leaves a lot to be desired and leaves me very sore even after only…
