🐠 Efficient Penn-Plax CCF201 Cascade Black Hose Aquarium Filter Part for Optimal Water Filtration Review

Just the size I needed to replace the hoses in my turtle tank. Love that it's black so I don't have to see dirt build up. Works perfectly.

Algae and dirt that have accumulated in the hose are not visible, which is very convenient. I just want the tubing to be one piece so I can cut it to the correct length, which is sometimes longer than either of those two pieces.

Although the hoses were fairly short (about 3 feet) they barely fit me. They come with (2) hoses. So if you need a hose longer than 3 feet, not connecting them together can be a problem. Also, one of the hoses was kinked and I had to wrap something stiff around it to keep it from blocking.

I don't know what it's made of but the pipe I received smelled really bad. I washed it and aired it out for a couple of weeks which helped but it still stinks. I use it on an old Eheim 2227 wet/dry filter and it works great. My only complaint is the smell. It's like burnt rubber with a hint of ammonia.

Was looking for a hose for model 700, hard to tell if there was a difference between the 700 and 1000 hoses until hose arrived, did a check so ordered him no one for model 700. Cascading models 700 and below. Since I no longer needed the hose for my 1000 or 1500, I sent the hose back. I'm giving 3 stars because I feel the description should be better.
