Oh that stuff stinks! Literally.
I don't know what it's made of but the pipe I received smelled really bad. I washed it and aired it out for a couple of weeks which helped but it still stinks. I use it on an old Eheim 2227 wet/dry filter and it works great. My only complaint is the smell. It's like burnt rubber with a hint of ammonia.
