Great filter but CA Prop. 65 warning

Pentair/Pentek claims this product is 100% Polypropylene (PP), so why does it have a California Proposition 65 warning? Polypropylene is not included in the list of carcinogens. I deduct a star for that. I'm assuming the product itself is 100% polypropylene, but the plastic packaging that the product comes in is not. But who knows, maybe the product isn't 100% polypropylene.

  • Absolutely amazing!

Water Water is everywhere, so let's all drink!

good swamp. I am in good standing and rotate every 3 months. I subscribe and save to save some money and remind myself it's time to change the filter. If you have trouble removing the canister. Do yourself a favor and buy a metal key specifically designed for your canister. This will do wonders for you and lower your blood pressure so you don't yell at a stuck canister.

Pros
  • great price
Cons
  • vulgarity

Half a micron of goodness

Don't drink water from the tank without it. Half a micron filters out most of the virus and it's so nice to know that I can be far from the nearest hospital and emergency room and not have to worry even if the water is contaminated in some way. does not hurt. This is invaluable, especially if you are going to be in remote areas for a long time. I bought a second pair after they reached the end of their lives. Five thousand gallons so far and all is going well.

Pros
  • Elegant design

Works well for my application

I have two different filters, sediment and activated carbon. I install the sediment filter before the water enters the activated carbon filter, so the sediment is removed before the water enters the activated carbon filter, which contributes to a longer service life. I use both types of filters from this brand in my water system. My system is now 2 1/2 years old and these filters are working fine for my groundwater quality. Every water is different, so you may get different end results. I will…

A decent amount of mud has caught on even on city water.

I had this filter installed for about 7 months and only changed it because it was New Years and I wanted to see the condition of the filter. My house is connected to the city water supply and the filter caught quite a bit of dirt. When I dumped the filter and canister into the bucket, there was a lot of dirt in the pan and you could see the graduated filter doing its job. I have never noticed any sign of pressure loss in 7 months. I replaced this filter with another one. this time I'm planning…

Best Sediment Filter I've Used

I love this Pentek Dual Gradient Filter. My current whole house filtration system only uses two boxes, so I need to remove as much as possible from the pre-filter to prevent clogging my second stage, which is a carbon block. This Pentek appears to be 80% 25 micron filter material with a little 1 micron closer to the center which is perfect for me. The area I live in has extremely high levels of iron and sludge due to the age of the supply line and one of these 20 inch filters will typically…

  • Replacement Water Filter
Cons
  • No Power

Good filter and good for big blues.

Ideal for 20" blue filter. Keep a few spare O-rings handy as they will lose their shape and leak after a while. I installed it in the piping that runs from my well into the house, between the well and the pressure vessel. Especially in front of a water treatment system designed to reduce buildup in my water. Also, I'm tired of cleaning the aerators on my faucets. I know the filter works immediately because there are no more particles in my water. A strange side effect is brown or blackish…

Pros
  • Replacement under sink water filter
Cons
  • Large and bulky

I just installed a complete water filtration system for my whole house. I have only used Pentek filters and housings. I'm very happy with the performance of my system and how well everything went together. Here's a breakdown of all the components I used in my system. I've spent a lot of time researching what works and found that getting to grips with each Pentek filter and its features was a challenge. The aim was to reduce the amount of sludge, iron deposits from old iron pipes and remove any…
