Well filters water from our well.

We have a really good well, but there will still be unpleasant things in the water. This Pentek filter removes these substances before they reach the water softener, keeping it clean and working. If yours is fine I highly recommend installing one of these Pentek filters.

Pros
  • Filtering
Cons
  • I'll add later

These filters had an awful plastic taste that wouldn't go away the whole time they were in my reverse osmosis system. They are advertised as two and a half inches, and they are two and a half inches tall. They never worked properly. I don't recommend it at all, it's a complete scam.

Pros

20 micron filters were stored for 10-12 weeks and then replaced. The filter was dark, but the weight was minimal. After running 5 microns for 6 weeks the water pressure dropped so we replaced it. The filter was very dark and after 10 weeks weighed twice as much as a 20 micron filter. So my conclusion is that a 5 micron filter is much better (weight and color) and will extend the life of my softener, water heater and faucets. We swap out the filter after 4 weeks so the water pressure isn't…

Pros
  • Filter cartridges
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
