This model is sealed to prevent air from entering (or escaping) the water system which is important when using it on the suction side of the pump place . Other types with bleed valves let air through, preventing proper priming and causing cavitation in the pump. This model is also stronger and more durable than other similar types I've tried.

This is actually a whole house filter and I have not experienced any loss of water pressure using the standard filter element. One of the best things about this housing is that it doesn't have a pressure relief feature, which has failed prematurely and leaked (KISS theory) in my last two filter housings. I would recommend this to a friend.

I discovered this filter at a previous job and have installed this filter in 3 different homes. DO NOT remove the filter housing with the pressure release button (red button), IT WILL LEAK OUT.
