I am satisfied with these devices for installing built-in filters that come from my well. These work wonders as coarse dirt filters. I buy them as needed. Happy with their performance.

Ideal as a replacement filter for my downhole system. I never have to worry about them once I've replaced them. They last an average of three months - depending on how bad your water is. Sometimes I need to replace earlier and sometimes I can get a month more. Just keep an eye on your water pressure and change accordingly. You can't go wrong with this.

what can we say about the water filter. Either it works with the right size or it doesn't. It's hard to tell if it filters down to the specified micron as I don't have a scanning electron microscope to see the micron size of the fill. That's enough for a few months, and that's what I get them for. I'm more interested in the price and as long as I don't see any color change in my water I'm fine with that.

This is exactly the product our plumber in northern Michigan double charged us to install. We need this filter for the well water that feeds the geothermal system that heats/cools the house. This filter does its job really well as the groundwater is pretty dirty; We have to change it at least twice a year and sometimes three times. It works well and I would recommend it to anyone who has a filter block that uses this form of filter.

Product may work IF you are using chlorinated water but not recommended for well water. I could not find any use for chlorinated water in the description, I just emailed PENTAIR and this was their response. The S1-BB filter should not be used for well water. The filter is a cellulose based filter and in non-chlorinated feed water the organic matter present will treat the cellulose as a nutrient. This causes the filter to break and things to grow.
