NOT only for chlorinated well water.
Product may work IF you are using chlorinated water but not recommended for well water. I could not find any use for chlorinated water in the description, I just emailed PENTAIR and this was their response. The S1-BB filter should not be used for well water. The filter is a cellulose based filter and in non-chlorinated feed water the organic matter present will treat the cellulose as a nutrient. This causes the filter to break and things to grow. It is better to choose a filter made of a more inert material such as polyester or polypropylene.
