This is a replacement for one that is about 18 years old. I am installing Sa. I use a filter that removes about 20% of the dissolved solids in our city water. Devices last longer without limescale.

The first one I received had the tab in the lid broken making it difficult to close. Revane replaced him (easily). The instructions say to hand tighten it, but it leaks. I added some more silicone grease, tightened the glass until it touched the gasket, then a 1/4 turn of the included wrench seemed to do the trick. Also, use lots of teflon tape on the input and output sockets, otherwise those suction cups are likely to leak.

I am a professional water collector and install many filters. the o-ring was missing (should have been two anyway) and some of the black plastic part of the receiver at the top was also broken and it wasn't a remanufactured unit, it should have been new from the factory. It was in my shop for a couple of weeks before I installed it and now it's 10 days late to return it. Do yourself a favor and get a Geek Parts branded block instead, which is better in almost every way, including the receiver's
