This one has worked twice already. That makes it better than some of the really cheap ones. I wouldn't say it's professional quality, but it seems great for casual use. jay

I purchased this product for commercial refrigeration purposes. I usually use a field thermocouple. I have used this item twice and it did not work. I returned and continue to use my 7 month old field thermocouple for which I paid $18. In this case you get what you pay for. Would not recommend this product.

A lot of this thermocouple looks and feels good. The wire is well shielded in a flexible metal braid. The alligator clip and K-type end are well made and feel like they'll last a while. My only issue is that the sensory weld on the end of the thermocouple doesn't actually touch the metal of the alligator clip. It's outdoors, maybe it was intended that way. But not what I thought. I figured it would attach to a crocodile skin clip to conduct heat to the thermocouple. This would make the radiator
