Fun but painful to pet!

Husband and son enjoyed working together. However, ironing was difficult. Some beads seemed to heat up and melt a little faster than others.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Love it for beading and jewelry making

I bought this for one of my videos (YouTube search term: WCORmCsk9WI) for my channel and it was a great first big Perler Bead project. This took a few days but the finished product was perfect. Now it's hanging on my wall.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Some bugs

Perfect for Zelda fan

It was a lot of fun! Keep in mind that this is a large piece so it can be difficult to iron evenly. It still turned out great. The entire passage from start to finish took about 6 hours. It comes with extra pins for each color, so don't worry if you drop one or want to change the design.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Frequency

No perforated panels included but still great

We had a lot of fun making it. Our 5 month old son's name is Lincoln we call him Link so we wanted this for his bedroom. My husband, 6 year old son and I worked together that day, it took a lot of time but it was fun and easy. Attention! Doesn't come with overlays.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Good but not great

Looks cool but you'd rather have the boring

I really like fuse beads. It was fun but tricky because there are 3 blue beads and 2 white beads - the white ones look completely indistinguishable unless you have both in hand. If you don't see shadows that should be obvious, they don't look right. But it looks really good when finished.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • cord is shorter than other picks

Excellent quality of the pattern and beads

Have fun! We bought two packs. My two boys, a 9 year old and a 7 year old, had a blast making these shields. We've added hard lining and wrist straps to complete the look. The pattern was easy to follow and there were far more beads in the kit than needed. We are very satisfied and my sons love their creations very much.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Little things

Mine ended up in the trash can

What a waste of time, I put everything together and the beds, half the beads didn't melt, I left the iron high up in one spot and the beads didn't melt or fuse at that spot. the other half which melted, warped and looked awful after 10 minutes of ironing with the ironing paper provided. My shield was useless. it all ended up in the trash. waste of time and money.

Pros
  • Perler Bead Pattern Measures 10.75 inches (width) x 13 inches (height) when complete. From 12 years. Ironing requires adult help and supervision.
Cons
  • Very expensive

Try not to overheat the board while fusing the beads.

The design is perfect and looks good, but the beads didn't melt at the same speed for some reason. I used a large plastic board to build mine, but the heat caused the board to bow before the balls could fuse and it fell apart. If you succeed, collect the shield in parts and not all at once. DO NOT lift the paper until you are sure it has melted. You will regret it.

Pros
  • Recreate one of Link's most iconic pieces of gear from The Legend of Zelda with our Perler Hylian Shield Pattern!
Cons
  • Bad instructions

Fun Project

We really enjoyed this Perler Bead project. My 10 year old son and husband love Legend of Zelda; so it was epic. The trick to ironing is the masking tape method. Details on Perler's website. Basically, you stick masking tape to the finished project, turn it onto a heat-resistant surface (outside the perforated panels), place it on a piece of ironing paper, and iron it. As for the extra beads that some people complained about, my husband and son used them to make tiny swords from Legend of Zelda

Pros
  • Includes (3000) Perler FUSE beads, (1) tweezers, (1) iron-on paper, and (1) full-size sewing pattern with instructions.
Cons
  • Damaged
