Genuine Thread Sealant

I have tried white PTFE based thread sealant in the past and have always had trouble getting a truly positive seal. This time I tried. This works wonders, especially with brake fluid fittings. It protects threads from corrosion and facilitates disassembly. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons

Worked when other products didn't work.

I have been sealing threads of all kinds for many years. The fitting manufacturers I have had to use have done a very poor job with NPT threads in the Chinaum factory where they were born. This material permanently seals the threads with lightweight aviation hydraulic fluid. Worth every penny.

Highly recommended. for fillers, adhesives and sealants

Repair of the hydraulic tank of a light lawnmower. Tried Teflon paste on filter plug with 1 1/4" thread - leaked out shortly after filling tank. Drained tank and resealed plug with Permatex sealant and surface prep activator. Haircut has been intense for a month and there is NO leaks Not even drips Also used oil pan plugs - no leaks Wish I had known about this a long time ago Highly recommended.

Works, really works!

I was trying to caulk the threaded nipple on the bike's front master cylinder. Nothing I tried could seal it: teflon tape or teflon paste. Did some research and found this product recommended. It's too expensive to get 5 stars so only 4. If it was affordable it would easily get 5 stars. It works, my master cylinder has no leaks. This is a big bottle so it will last a long time. Unfortunately I don't need it often as I'm not a professional mechanic. At least now I have it when I need it.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Good stuff but damn expensive.

Ideal for the air fittings on my air tools/compressors. I have a 29 gallon port cargo that may leak significantly overnight. This slowed the leak, but the hiss was still audible. The plug for the check valve thread was raw to say the least. I used teflon tape, pipe lube and got it. I had to use a black RTV because the threads were very poorly made. On the other hand, I've used it for my air tool fittings and hoses and it works great. A little goes a long way, I honestly think it will last for…

  • Easy to use

Doesn't contaminate brake fluid or seal metal threads

This thing really is worth the money when you need it. You then use it on any threaded fitting. I bought it first because it was moveable and didn't foul the air with speed bleed on my car and road bike and it seals so easily I've used it on every air compressor fitting and tool including HVLP paint gun fittings, every pressure washer fitting, hose and gun/wand. If you let it dry for a few days, it's better to take it apart and seal it without reapplying, but it's not necessary. Used 5 minutes…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
