Description of Pertronix 44011 Flame Thrower Black Volt

45,000 volts. Ultra Low 032 primary resistance. Compatible with Ignitor II and III systems as well as most capacitive discharge systems. Charges to peak current typically 30-70 percent faster than other coils. Rapid charge time means maximum spark energy is sustained to higher engine RPM.

Works fantastic. fits ignition parts

I have decided to use Oertonix in my 1969 Z28. All original cars. You MUST apply 12V switchable ignition voltage to the coil or the Pertonix will drop if under voltage is above 4000 RPM. You MUST use this spool as well. If you try to use the original spool! The g value in ohms is too high. Again. Pertrox fails at around 5000 rpm. This solved all my problems.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some small things

Easy retrofit of ignition parts

Equipped in 73 f250 with 360fe. Got up with no problems, got up in the factory mount. I also installed the recommended Flamethrower 3, new cables and new Champion connectors. There's no noticeable increase in power, but the handling is miles ahead of the old top-of-the-line setting. Idling is smooth, acceleration is smooth, shifting is smoother. Now like a new truck.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Be honest in advertising what your product will do.

Pertronix advertises that you can use a flamethrower 3 coil to improve the performance of their Pertronix electronic ignition system, but they didn't mention upgrading to the Pertronix 3 car with it Pertronix basic ignition and after 20 miles it fried my ignition. I spoke to their engineering department. but they do not admit that the advertising is false.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities

Great product, poor shipping packaging!

This is a great reel at a great price. It arrived quickly. Those were the positives. Cons The shipping packaging was ridiculous, it came in a plastic bag inside a box meant to be on a shelf. The box was torn upon delivery and the spool just rolled around in the bag. Luckily it wasn't damaged and worked perfectly, but it needs packing material for shipping.

  • Certified
Cons

VERY HOT SPARK, JUST DON'T FORGET TO INCREASE THE GAP IN THE CANDLES!

Used with Pertornix III, produces a very hot spark. Brilliant blue spark, especially with 0.007" wider spacing than standard. You need to make sure you have a true 12V across the coil. If your vehicle has a resistor or resistor wire installed then you will need to remove it. This is not difficult. Pertronix III is great and works way better than I expected!I will be transferring ALL my vintage cars to this system when my wallet stops bleeding!

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Safety

Pertronix Ignitor III requires a quick screw coil update

Installed on a 1963 Ford 427 FE with a dual quad setup along with the Ignitor III 71281D. The coil mounts directly into an existing OEM style coil mount, but is not compatible with 6V ignition systems, eliminating the need for an external ballast resistor or resistor cable. The coil does not have a coil ring connector and you will lose the factory charging connector when using the coil with Pertronix Ignitor Rigs.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Pertronix 44011 Flame-Thrower III Black 45,000 Ignition Coil

I purchased the Pertronix 44011 Flame-Thrower III Black 45,000 Ignition Coil when I bought the Pertronix 71 III181 Ignitor Module, worked perfectly. since installing two items in my classic car. They replaced the MSD billet distributor and 6AL ignition unit and now the car starts and runs better than ever with the MSD system, also looks like the original factory ignition system and has multiple sparks from idle to 10,000 rpm. like a rev limiter that can be easily reset.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Disappearing

Flame-Thrower III - Ignition Parts

There is a big difference between my scoring system and the Pertronix Ignitor III I installed in my Mustang 64 1/2 coupe 289 V8, which is a step or two is above the standard. The engine starts easier, runs smoother and accelerates faster. what he did with the point system. I also installed the Flamethrower III coil at the same time. I would recommend these two to anyone who has a points based system. I even get more fuel consumption in the city than before. Haven't had it on the freeway yet…

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Good, but not great
