We got this for our exuberant pit bull. First let me say our pit mix is STRONG! He loves to pull and jump and only has 100% muscle mass. It can drag a 250-pound person across the floor. We knew we would need an extremely strong cable to keep it from tearing/chewing. we chose this one. This connection cable is strong and does the job. We have a 60 pound pit mix and have never had a broken cord problem, but we don't use it very often and it's not very rough with it. However, we did find the cable to be frayed and as I mentioned we don't use this cable so this is an issue. At the moment, however, wear and tear does not affect the strength of the cable.
