It's very strong: Dogs

I know my 60 lb dog can't break it, he can't chew it through and I don't know if this stuff will rust. I only use it when I go to a charity project and need two hands to plant native trees and cut down trees that are destructive to our ecosystem. My dog is not a guard dog, he is a service dog, and no matter how much off-leash training he does, his time has come. This review is about domestic dogs that cannot survive without humans.

Fits what I need

This chain is good for my needs. I NEVER leave my dogs chained outside so I'm not sure what that would be like. I just tie my dog up when I want him to be in the yard with me while I work in the yard etc. I have a 70 lb 8 month old pit bull and that seems to keep him going. Only thing is he once found a way to slip off his leash so I can't say the swivel clamps work that well. If you want to leash your dog from time to time, that's fine BUT you should never tie your dog up all the time. Both…

I looked for this type of chain because I trust them. 2 things: Never trust brackets. And never trust parentheses. Take a climbing carabiner and attach it so that the main pull is between the chain and the chest D/O ring on the harness. Use the clip on the chain to attach it to your dog's collar. I use the same system on the other end and attach it around a tree or picnic table. The chest clip prevents neck injuries and ultimately deters the dog from unscrewing the collar.
