Terminals are very light.

I was very upset with the terminals on this unit. PetSafe mentions that up to 14 gauge wire can be used. The connectors built into this device are too light to clamp 14 gram solid wire. Plastic on one side and a very light spring. Compare this to the connectors on my stereo speakers, which are similar in construction but have a strong spring and metal on both sides. In addition, the speakers also offer the option of using screw terminals. I understand the place is expensive but my overall…

Bo is a good boy! - Power supplies and surge protectors

Maybe the radio tech just isn't there (grade 5.0 if so) or I completely screwed up the settings but would like to see the zone expansion The buzzer increased the warning zone. Or if you could just increase the warning zone that would be great. The warning zone can be 1-2 feet if I set it to about 3/4 acre. So it doesn't give the dog much of a warning when he goes for a normal dog walk. Bo the dog still ran across the line, first chasing deer or yelling at neighbors through 2 doors and only…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Great protection for expensive lawnmowers

The Husqvarana lawnmower manual recommends turning off the boundary wires and the power supply during a thunderstorm. Good advice, but the way the connectors are made is not that simple and not commonplace during summer thunderstorms. Who dares to go out during a thunderstorm to grab the wires in the ground? Since car mowers, like dog fences, run via a radio cable in the ground, this seemed a logical use of the device. I was concerned that this device might not work due to the directional…

Excellent protection for expensive lawnmowers

The Husqvarana Automower user manual tells you to switch off the boundary wires and the power source during a thunderstorm. Pros
  • Do not install the unit if the distance between the outlet and the electrical service panel (control box/fuse panel) is less than 10 meters (30 feet) or more.
Cons
  • Big and bulky
