Description of PFERD 17038 Classic Diameter Length: Superior Quality, Unmatched Performance

Designed for hand sharpening of saw chains with precise spiral cut. Remove stock sparingly and without undue loads on the metal. Classic line spiral cut is impressive, due to the high degree of stock removal and aggressive sharpening behaviour. Measures 3/16-inches diameter by 8-inches length.

My first file selection

I have a complete set of files for sharpening my saw chain. From 7/32 to 5/32 and they all compress the metal with every hit. Get a set and choose the right file for the cutter and its wear and make the right file.

Pros
  • Hand files
Cons
  • Unsure

Sharp, fits in Pferd file guides and lasts longer

I like to leave my files on the truck so my less experienced workers can sharpen quickly. They were well packaged and in perfect condition. I used one file for about 7-8 chains and they still cut great. Keep them sharp longer and make sure your chain is clean. I use a wire brush and some compressed air to remove dust and dirt before sharpening. Don't press too hard, let the file do all the work.

  • Finishing Products
Cons
  • Fragile
