PH5 Extra Guard Passenger Filter Review

FRAM is a great filter but I couldn't imagine driving 10,000 miles with the same filter and/or oil. I would recommend every 3000 or 5000 - depending on oil and vehicle usage. Filters are not that expensive, why risk damage.

Good for older cartridges. We previously agreed with AutoZone/Revain on the correct filter for this 1996 pickup. We were able to screw the filter in, but had to tighten it with a special wrench to prevent leakage.

Product description says it fits my year model car. In fact, this oil filter was twice the diameter of the oil in my engine. Filter, it took 2 times to fix it. I ended up going to the local auto parts store to get the right one.

They say it's better for synthetic oils and I have to take their word for it because I won't be experimenting. My impression is that this keeps the oil clean between changes, but it's hard to say. I love the fact that Craftsman places these "knobs" along the outside edge to make it easier to install and remove filters with an oil filter wrench.
