Lightbulbs are different.: Lighting and ceiling fans

Tried to find this at Lowe's, Home Depot and Ace Hardware to no avail. The two major chains no longer appear to carry the Phillips name, and Ace was limited in what they had. This is the bulb that came with the light and the others I tried didn't fit so I bought it from Revain and it's ready to use.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

How many doctors does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

The threads on the bulb have been shifted slightly, preventing it from being fully screwed in. Gently rub the threads with a small amount of petroleum jelly (avoiding the plunger and bottom contact) and then wipe the petroleum jelly off. That lubricated it just enough for me to screw it in.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Weight

Make sure you know how much power you need.

I must have ordered the wrong service. (50) Not bright enough for a kitchen. I do. Next time I'll take a stronger one. Don't pay attention to watts. I wish they had shown me an alternative power. The old lightbulb had no electricity. I should have looked at the manual.

Doesn't last long on high vibration fans

This is the lightbulb that comes with 2 ceiling fans in my house and we leave them on almost all the time. I think the constant vibration of the fan is probably contributing to the shortened lamp life since we only have to replace it on one of the fans every few months or so. The other fan is better balanced and this lamp lasts much longer.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Not bad

This is available in 50 and 75: I use both in ceiling fans around the house (lower wattage in bedrooms and brighter in the kitchen and living room It dims well, lasts quite a long time, and I think Phillips offer an impressive warranty replacement if it doesn't last 27 months. It seems common, but small hardware stores don't. It's a good, true white light nevertheless necessary not to touch the lamps, the price is quite acceptable, especially with such a generous guarantee.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
