I bought this as a $50 gold box deal with the intention of keeping it next to my desk at work. Delivered on Friday. To test this I put it on the bedside table where it stayed. This unit is smaller than I expected but sounds fantastic for its size. With no sound or EQ adjustments, I was able to listen to bass-heavy electronic music in the shower. The music was playing a few feet away from me, on the other side of the shower door. So it was able to reproduce an undistorted sound at this volume, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Overall I am very happy with the sound and quality of this speaker. My main reasons for buying it are that it's a bit more portable than other iPod docks and unlike many other iPod docks it runs on AA batteries rather than an internal rechargeable battery that loses its mobility once it stops working.
