Just doesn't do what it's supposed to

I have a lot of smart devices at home but it wasn't working and the tech support was extremely unhelpful. I would NOT recommend it.

  • Certified
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

Not quite sure. on Safety & Security

I'm not sure if Phyn is right for us yet. During the initial installation, PRV wasn't found, but we definitely have it. We're still testing but will update as soon as we know more.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

I wanted to please, but I just couldn't.

Realizing that this is Sense of Water made me really want to like it. I love smart homes and all similar devices to better understand what you are consuming and how everything works in your home. To be honest, however, it doesn't seem to offer much added value like what I've seen so far. really useful. I also had to hire a plumber because the unit didn't fit directly into my existing installation. Generally a good idea and if it works I'm sure everything is fine. I just don't see the value and…

no time series charts and dummy event detection with 'failed' PRV

Intended to mimic the Sense energy monitor for water pressure data but its event detection is fully dummy and not a data time series graph about pressure and the lack of integration with other devices like Flume, which could slightly improve accuracy. This is an expensive gauge that you can only control in real time and only through the iPhone app. I hope that one day they will do something useful with the data they get from me because they won't let me access it. But I'm not holding my breath.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Good but not great

Useless, buggy, horrible support

1. Does NOT detect leaks between the gauge and shutoff valve. This is not mentioned anywhere on their website and these leaks are the most serious and most common2. It does NOT show the water consumption of each device. They have this feature, but it's still in "beta" and works horribly - 8 gallons for a toilet flush, 1.5 gallons for a shower. Looks cool to impress a friend but really useless3. Customer support is very casual, in a bad way. They can't copy and paste or spell your name, they…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Interesting innovation

When I first saw this I decided to buy it for leak detection. Since it arrived I now see that it is a much more advanced product. The device consists of a central command center and two sensors designed to be installed on the hot and cold water pipes (3/8 inch) under the sink or vanity. After installation, you can see subtle changes in water pressure; and the system claims to be able to identify "signatures" throughout the home, even in things as disparate as toilets and washing machines. It…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some errors

Give us time series charts!

I purchased this product as a pinpoint leak detector with its highly accurate pressure measurement. A few drops per minute for several weeks can seriously damage parquet floors (unfortunately this is based on experience). Graph of a long term leak test, the difference is easily measurable compared to the outlet pressure drop in my house (no simulated leak). So the mission is complete, it meets the requirements, and I'm happy. The water consumption is also good. It's not ideal for identifying…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Didn't work for me

After receiving the Phyn Smart Water Assistant, I plugged its power supply into the waste chute outlet under the kitchen sink, only to find that the outlet was at the end of the switched circuit. There was no electricity in the outlet unless the garbage chute was on. I had to hire an electrician to install a new circuit. After waiting several weeks for an electrician to show up, I proceeded to the next step in the setup process, which required linking the Phyn mobile app to the Phyn Smart Water

Pros
  • Amazing

  • Gotchas
