🔧 Set of 2 Tuff Support Hood Lift Supports for 2001-2006 Acura MDX Review

My teenage son gave me my first car. The former thought that using a stick was enough. I'm the one who got hurt. No broken bones but why take the risk when these replacements are affordable and will easily replace the old ones.

They arrived on time and as expected. Installation was very easy and straightforward. When installed, they sit a little slanted compared to the OEM part, so they seem to wobble a bit at the joints. The support is great and now I don't have to worry about the hood falling on my head.

A snug fit for PTO carriers. I was able to install each one in less than 60 seconds. Preload, damping and action are smooth. I found traces of oil on the cylinder and piston on one of the struts. Not sure if this is a leak or leftover from the build. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Just installed by myself today and included a board to hold the hood in place. As soon as I installed the 1st hood he grew tall and proud. Decided to stop there and have a second one on hand just in case. But I changed the other one too. I hope I don't have to change them anytime soon.

I have put off replacing the bearings on my 2003 Acura MDX. Finally tired of using a vise to hold the hood while checking the fluids. The lifts arrived very quickly and well packaged. Five minutes to install. Doesn't matter! Now my hood stays in place when I need to check the oil and I don't have to worry about it falling on my head. A very good product at a reasonable price.

Wow! It is great! It took less than 5 minutes to install them. Previously, I watched a YouTube video to learn how to use a screwdriver to remove the clips from the old ones. Even after installing only one of the supports, the hood remained raised by itself. Both of them make me feel like a new person! Surprisingly, an Acura dealer charged $236 to install new ones. If the job takes 5 minutes, that's $2,400 per hour worked.

Impressed with the build and functionality of the product. Took 15 minutes to install and they raise the hood quick and easy, almost too easy! This is a great product as advertised and is solidly made and should last another 16 years! The product arrived on time and had instructions on the outside of the box. The company also sent me an installation video so the customer service was good which I appreciate working with the company!

I ignored the fine print instructions and instead found many videos online showing how to install racks on a 2005 Acura MDX. Suggestions: Install when the engine is cold. Cover the fender with a rag or thick towel to protect it if you drop the rack. Place a towel or rag in the engine compartment to catch the clip from the old rack if you…
