Review on 🔧 Set of 2 Tuff Support Hood Lift Supports for 2001-2006 Acura MDX by Robert Mac

I am looking at Tuff Support for a 2001-2006 Acura MDX. Pros: Easy to install. Fits perfectly. Works as expected. Cons: Fine print, complicated instructions. I ignored the fine print instructions and instead found many videos online showing how to install racks on a 2005 Acura MDX. Suggestions: Install when the engine is cold. Cover the fender with a rag or thick towel to protect it if you drop the rack. Place a towel or rag in the engine compartment to catch the clip from the old rack if you drop it. I used an Irwin vise and a clamp on the old strut on one side to hold the hood while I replaced the old strut on the other side. For extra safety I put a large bucket on top of the engine to catch the hood if it falls off. I finally found a short fat 2x2 that I wedged in the corner to hold the hood open. I used 2 screwdrivers. A small, thin one to start removing the old clip, then switched to a larger screwdriver for easier clip removal. The new struts snapped easily into place with a decent push and a little lateral movement. After the new posts were in place, I slipped a small piece of 2x2 over the clamp on the end of the new post and tapped it lightly with a hammer to make sure the new posts were secure.
