Left angry with $200 wasted

What I want to say is about Pioneer. This was my second and last recorder I ever bought from them. The sockets on the burners are abysmal. They are so temperamental that even the slightest downward movement of the wire can disrupt the burners' performance and readability. I wasted time that the projects could not complete the recording even though the recording was more than 90% complete.

It does everything I need

If you're having trouble finding an external drive that works with new versions of MacOSx like 11.2.2 (Big Sur), then this drive is for you . Works to read/write DVD and read/write Blu-ray. So many drives say 10.6 (or equivalent) or later is not advertised correctly. I've tried three others with no success.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • No insurance

Small but great!

This is a lightweight and easy-to-use external Blu-ray player that does everything I want from an optical drive. Most laptops are not equipped with optical drives as the vast majority of software and other content can be downloaded from the Internet. However, I still need an optical drive for other tasks, e.g. B. writing pictures and being able to continue using software that I bought years ago but is still on optical media. If you need a quality optical drive and are looking for something that

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons

Works with Mac - Externals

I bought this to rip Blu-ray Discs and DVDs for digital archiving on my Mac. It works fine with 3rd party ripping software "MakeMKV" and I use "HandBrake" to compress large files for archiving on external hard drives. Please note that this drive does not come with any software to play/view Blu-ray disc, and you need third-party software on Mac to do so. I was just looking for a drive that recognizes my 2020 MacBook Pro and that's exactly what I need.

Works well! for computers and accessories

I've been using it for about 3 months and it works very well. I've been using it since I've been working from home so I can read data sent to me on CD/DVD. I chose Blu-ray to digitize some Blu-ray movies in the cloud. I had no problems with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • boring packaging

Very fast Blu-Ray/DVD burner

In a review of a similar DVD burner, I wrote that you have to spend a few shekels more to get something decent. This Blu-Ray burner costs a little more at $130, but it's worth it because it works well. I used it for reviewing and watching DVDs on a big screen TV. For me this is the saver as it is much faster than the recorders that come with computers. Bottom line: spending a little more for a decent product will save you trouble in the long run. Update 1: The lid vibrates when in use. When I…

  • Blu-ray drives
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Tried this product based on other reviews. I had to archive emails and downloads to hard drive (I couldn't use a USB stick which would be much faster, cheaper and easier overall). In preparation for re-imaging the laptop, I needed to free up space on my hard drive. The DVDs were too small for more than 200GB email. I had some problems writing to the disc that came with the device, I couldn't burn it. I had to buy more hard drives to fully test it. BD-R (Blue Ray Disc) discs are expensive ($41…

Tried a brand new Macbook Air M1 with brand new adapters. The initial connection was USB via Apple Multiport Adapter (USB, Power, HDMI). The drive turned on and sometimes recognized the disc sufficiently to get information about the header type. Failed to load blank CD or play DVD or commercial audio CD. I'm sure Macbook Airs have a reputation for low power output for HDMI, so I figured maybe USB wasn't efficient enough either. I replaced the multiport adapter with a direct USB to USB-C adapter
