I bought this specifically to use on my FaceTrackNoIR computer. For less than $5 plus shipping, this works great after installing the free driver. Instead of upgrading my old 6-year-old Logitech webcam to a more expensive $30 model, I tripled the frame rate with the PS Eye for a trifle. Head tracking now works reliably with a noticeable reduction in in-game tracking freezes/lag.

Best available devices as a webcam. I use this for computer vision research. I bought four or five of these. Their advantage is that they have a high frame rate, and I really wanted a lower "standard" resolution. The mics are really good. The prices are correct. They are very cheap. One problem - the cord became stiff, I had to replace it with cords from dead mice. They work well with openCV and Ubuntu Linux.

Nothing more to say. I actually got this as a spare eye camera; I'm a PS Move fan and I love PS Move track games on PS3; I'm not sure the PS4 is much better at the moment. It's like they abandoned such a fun genre of arcade games that we used to use in the 90's. Anyway it works great. The only downside is that the base is too light for the camera to stay focused on one spot. I recommend gluing the camera in place.

I just installed this on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B running the latest version of Raspian ("Stretch"). When using the ALSA sound drivers, the microphone array is recognized immediately and works very well. This camera exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and ease of setup. Although the delivery was a bit delayed, the camera surprised me by arriving a day early and really made my night. After about 10 minutes of firmware download for a small amount of $2.99, this camera costs $12-13, which is a lot cheaper than any competing webcam could offer. I ordered this for my 5 year old who plays Little Big Planet on his Playstation 3. The game allows us to take pictures of things (or ourselves) and incorporate them into the levels we create in the game. We really like that the camera allows us to do this. Good - so I chose it for both video conferencing and gaming. good enough for us to chat with family. The stream is a bit choppy at times, but this isn't a video conferencing system for a few hundred bucks. For what you pay you get a good facility. The camera is great for some family games. It seems to run without lag and very smoothly. I tested it with a friend on video chat and we were able to see and hear each other with no problems. I have to say this and believe me I'm not a fan but there are Kinect aspects to this camera with some games.
