Just cut the blade. When I profiled the blade, I found that the blade had a crack down the middle. Didn't match hardening.

This material will not cure over 40 HRC but the listing says otherwise. The pattern is very beautiful. Over 40 HRC is not required for a larger blade like the Seaaux, which is what I bought it for.

I bought this for a good price but one side became very thin and unusable so I got 3/4 of what I ordered but I'm all there is left to use good steel, I just can't do what I want, but I doubt it's common.

The first workpiece had delamination problems that could not be machined. Instead of the second blank I got an LED shower head. Came back and bought another. This billet completely separated in two places during forging. This may be ok if you're just cutting out the blank, but not suitable for forging. Way back on the knife now.

I've ordered this damask several times, the first few have been flawless. I received two more blanks today that are 2mm shorter, 4mm thinner and ranging in thickness from 2.5mm to 4.7mm absolutely everywhere. In addition to the dementia issues, I have a 1.5" x 1" section that has no template at all! If you like gambling for money, then this blank is for you!

Hard material, heat treated. The pattern could be a little cleaner, but compared to what most American damask manufacturers take, this is a steal at literally half the price. In my case it was delivered the same day. Compared to the four week minimum wait for some damask growers here in the US, this really helped with a tight schedule.
