I bought this for my niece - she has never worked with needlepoint - after a few kicks she decided she loved it! The colors were beautiful and the pattern was very forgiving. The textured flowers were very pretty!

My daughter got this as a birthday gift and it's very handy for newbies. She completed it in about a day. The only complaint is that the needle is weak and the instructions weren't specific. In any case, we bought more kits and additional needles.

The perforating needle itself is beautiful and durable. I tried another set last summer and the plastic punch broke right away so I sent this set back. This is good for beginners, but pattern patterns don't make a beginner. If you want the same quality as a beginner, change the thread to 6 skeins DMC embroidery thread while using a finer needle than the one included in the set. The needle is fine for this type of yarn, but this type of yarn is better for larger work. Actually the amount of yarn is more than enough, half would be enough for this, so maybe originally they meant double the area (12 inch hoop), now with this size this yarn works…

Don't buy this and don't expect to complete a needlepunch project. I was very happy to receive this kit. All components are intact, the needle is basic but sharp and the handle is a bit small but the needle threader works great and the thread seems good enough. Unfortunately, the fabric that comes with it doesn't have the right tension to hold the loops in place and the needle that comes with it leaves big holes.
