This is good for beginners, but pattern patterns don't make a beginner. If you want the same quality as a beginner, change the thread to 6 skeins DMC embroidery thread while using a finer needle than the one included in the set. The needle is fine for this type of yarn, but this type of yarn is better for larger work. Actually the amount of yarn is more than enough, half would be enough for this, so maybe originally they meant double the area (12 inch hoop), now with this size this yarn works very well. On the other hand, if this is your first project, go ahead, it's good to practice the basics.
