Make sure you take frequent backups in the short term *UPDATE

Well it was a recent quick upgrade to an SSD instead of the HDD that was previously in the laptop. I bought it a little over a year ago and it has been in use in my laptop for about a year as of tonight. Quick and easy hardware installation, Windows also installed quickly. Tonight, however, he decided the deed was done. The computer is hard locked so I restarted it and that was it. "No boot device found." I tried to repair the operating system installation using a Windows boot disk, but that…

BIG SSD BUT VERY BAD SOFTWARE

SSD looks OK. Acronis cloning software provided, copied files from HD to SSD ok but could not write necessary files to make it bootable SSD. Software customer service brought me back to PNY. They gave me a standard solution that I had already tried and installed mtg on the computer. They just said that by opening the computer I void any warranty. Corrected Review: I tried Aomei cloning software and it worked great. It was also free and didn't require the hassle of registering that Acronis had…

Perfect fit for my secondary drive and priced right

I caught this as a Revain gold box and bought it for $32.00 which I think is a bargain. . Powerful little drive that works as advertised - Boot times in Microsoft Windows 10 Pro went from 2 minutes to around 30 seconds, which is a big difference compared to booting from a SATA or IDE drive, and it was very easy to install. But that SSD was an addition to the speed factor as I have a pair of G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB RAM with an available EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC graphics card with 4GB…

Highly recommended in Computers & Accessories

I bought it when it was good for over $30. I've been tracking 120+ GB SSDs for a few months and another good review was Silicon Power at around the same price. Since PNY seems to be the best brand and has a lot of good reviews, I went with this one. I was not disappointed. He replaced the hard drive with a 5400 RPM one, which was very slow and made a lot of noise. It came with a licensed copy of Acronis cloning software. Acronis isn't a big deal compared to even some free cloning software…

Terrible reliability

I made a RAID 5 home security system with 5 of these. A drive failed after 5 weeks. (Five is the magic number in this test. 5 drives in RAID 5 failed in 5 weeks.) Instead of repairing RAID 5, I figured if the drive is failing that quickly, it's just not worth repairing. I also built a RAID 0. in a Linux home install for high performance computing to help me with my PhD in Computational Electromagnetism. A drive failed in just 4 weeks. Instead of rebuilding, again using the reasoning why rebuild
