Type of review

Dual design, dial and silicone case are good features but the thermometer only lasted once (Turkey for Thanksgiving). When we tried it a second time (prime rib for Christmas) the needle that measures the internal temperature didn't move. For this reason it gets one star. Now we are looking for another thermometer.

It has potential in kitchenware and gadgets

Pros: Good for slow roasting meat in the oven or on the grill . Good for keeping an eye on the grilling temperature. This seems to be accurate when tempering meat. Cons: Unless you're cooking a roast, you can't use both thermometers at the same time. The oven temperature range will not work if you want to stick a thermometer in the grill opening. You cannot temper meat if you have used it to monitor the grill/oven temperature. It doesn't work well as a general purpose thermometer, for example…

Temperature Range Too High

This item is HUGE! I purchased to control the temperature of the meat when grilling prime rib in the Ronco grill. No matter what Ron Popeil says, you can't "set it and forget it" if you want your roast to be cooked to perfection. I bought this and another polder sensor that only monitors meat temp hoping to find one that works.
