Polk Audio DB521 speaker

The speakers were installed on my Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager. I was hoping to improve the sound quality. Fits perfectly with no problems. The sound quality was much better than the series. So far I'm happy with my purchase. I know you can find a much better and more expensive speaker on the market. But they look good and sound great. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget.

Good upgrade for Wrangler TJ

Great sound for the price. I installed sound modules on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ with no problems. Added 90Hz bass blocker and polyfilter. With my head unit with an output of 50 watts per channel, it copes easily, without distortion. Directional tweeters only have a few degrees of adjustment, but it's nice to have that level of flexibility. Compared to the entry-level Rockford Fosgate speakers I've had before, they sound a lot cleaner with almost no high-frequency ringing.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Hard to say

I installed them with some brackets (Jeep Wrangler (Tj, Rubicon, Unlimited) front speaker adapter 1997-2006. Converts 4" to 6" factory speakers to 5.25". -Aftermarket speakers around (4x6 by 5.25") in my 1998 Jeep TJ. They are a huge improvement over the previously installed 4x6 speakers and have a nice smooth tone, from low to high, with more midrange presence, which emphasize vocals, guitars, keyboards, etc. I can finally hear my music clearly through the sound of my 4.0L V6 rumble and tire…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

sharper highs but I really bothered to drill it in the door , and the bass response is probably my fault. Budget head unit, but don't expect miracles from a standard head unit. Consider using an Xtreme dyno or other bass enhancement methods that will likely be lost due to the cavern doors and surface mount method I'm using. I'll see if they match my other machine with an aftermarket head unit and update with performance upgrades.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • It's OK

You'll regret not spending more on Polk's MM speakers.

Despite good reviews online, they're pretty weak. If you're wondering whether the more expensive Polk MM522 is worth the extra money, the answer is a resounding yes. difference between day and night. The MM522 have much better sound quality, clarity and volume. They are also half as light and look much better. The grill on the db521 isn't very good either. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money. If you look there are refurbished and open offers, I did and I was very pleased after being…

Wow! caravan, external speakers. Wow!

These speakers are loud, not just small room speakers. They fill the room with sound. If you have a caravan or bus, you know that traditional car audio systems don't sound very good in a large room. Polk *squashed* him with those speakers! I replaced the OEM speakers on the outside of our trailer with these Polk speakers. Wow! The sound is crystal clear, not what you would expect from such a small speaker with 'good' bass punch, but overall these things are amazing for what they are! You can…

Polk is exactly what you need

I've had them on my Olds Intrigue front doors for the last 5 years and they still put a smile on my face. Mids and highs sound very clear and realistic. That's about as good as you'd expect from a 5.25 door speaker. My car used to have factory sail panel tweeters, but I was on a tight budget and opted for coaxial speakers. I do not regret it. Since I've been able to align the Polk tweeters, I can hardly tell that the highs aren't coming out of the sail panels anymore. They also pair really well

DB521s and 2004 Wrangler TJ

I have been a long time fan of Polk audio systems and use their speakers for my home theater. They arrived quickly as is usual with Revain and the product was packaged very nicely. I had no problems with the delivery. The car I installed these speakers in is a 2004 Wrangler and they were installed in front speaker boxes with 4x6 to 5.25 adapters sold at Revain ($14). They were pretty easy to install, especially after spending a few minutes planning how to install them. They have regular…
