Powerful and compact.

Powerful and compact. I use a pair of DB652s and a pair of high performance DB692s. The only thing I would have liked would have been a bass boost feature.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

True RMS don't lie about automotive electronics

I have 2 and I recommend them if you want your speakers to sing. I have 3 sets of Hertz components in my car. Wow! I also have a Pad 1000.1 Rock with a 12" subwoofer. Great amps from Polk Audio.

Pros
  • Superb construction
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Simple and powerful

Sounds fantastic with my Polk MM speakers. The compact size allowed me to hide it from my eyes. Feels a bit dated compared to features from other amp manufacturers. It seems a bit picky about the input source.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some bugs

Powerful, cool and quiet

Very good quality amp. I installed it on a Mazda 3 with a Bose audio system and it was a significant upgrade. The amp runs cooler than most amps I've had in the past and is relatively small for its power profile. In addition, it is very quiet, the rumble is not audible.

Pros
  • Solid build
Cons
  • I will add later

Buy another amp

Do not order this amp! The first one I bought had both front channels defective which led me to believe that the new speakers I bought were poor quality. Found out it was the amp, sent it back and ordered another one. This one has another bad front channel that plays intermittently. Sound quality is good and it delivers enough power to drive all 8 speakers, but obviously the build quality doesn't live up to Polk standards. Spend your money elsewhere. It's bugging me so much that I'll only deal…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • old

so far very satisfied good for amp

Just hooked up this bad boy it replaces the DUAL XPE4700 which I'm returning due to distortion at higher levels and so can't get anywhere near full power out of decent computer speakers. I built this block just like the previous one and there is one big difference! I'm getting every watt out of my speakers and it can be higher but my speakers can't handle it. I'm using a POLK db571 (50 watts into 4 ohms) on the rear and a POLK MM571 (90 watts into 2 ohms) on the front. Sometimes I like my music

Pros
  • perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • quality

worked 1 hour. No warranty support from Polk

I bought these brand new. It worked fine for an hour and then stopped. The local car radio shop confirmed that all connections were correct and the amplifier failed. The Northern Marine seller said he could not get a guarantee as it had been over 30 days since the purchase. Polk denied the warranty because I did not purchase from an authorized dealer. I'm not sure how/why Polk expects me to research who sells their product, but they clearly don't endorse their product. I now have a $300…

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • No

Missing Link to Music Nirvana

This amp replaces the Kicker zx750 amp that powered the Polk MM6501 Finishing Kit. I replaced it because I didn't have room for that big amp in my trunk and I only have a pair of speakers in the front. This amp is about 1/3 smaller than the kicker. (Sub will soon be added to Polk MM 1040). I just have to say WOW! I went from 85 watts per channel to 150-175 watts per channel. The MM6501 are 2.7 ohms, so you get a little more power. The sound is louder and clearer. I don't know if it sounds…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • unreliable
