Despite what the YouTube videos tell you, it's incredibly easy to get stuck in the clay and/or the clay to wedge between tiny and tightly packed tines. I used water, as they said, first on the parts themselves, then on the clay, and then even on both at the same time. If you press too hard (which can't be measured because you have to press sooooo hard for them to penetrate the clay more than 1mm) you end up getting clay stuck between the two pieces with all the patterns on them.
