Chose this for my husband's project. He had to set the "butt joints". It worked flawlessly and quickly. So mission accomplished. I've wanted to try this with alcohol ink art as well, but haven't gotten that far yet. In general it works as it should. No complaints or regrets.

This is definitely a cheaper design and can get overheating but for the price I think it's a good choice. Heat guns tend to be bulky and too powerful for easy use of heat shrink tubing, so I use these instead. It is more ergonomic and comfortable to use. If you don't need anything heavy, this is a good choice.

I've tried cell phone repairs and heat shrink splicing in the past and the instructions always recommend a heat gun. I used a hair dryer due to a lack of better options.
