Jammed Cartridge read more

Let me start by saying that I am a cable loader. All my power tools come with a porter cord. I do a lot of home renovations so the Porter cable is great for my needs. I am disappointed with this device. The cartridge is rusty when open. I couldn't close the chuck to insert the blade. I don't even want to talk about how that happened. But I was disappointed with the quality control and/or packaging of this device. I was in the middle of a project and couldn't wait for a replacement. I had to…

Really speeds up drilling holes in masonry

Great tool! Modified a Black & Decker 20V Max battery (I already had 5 batteries for my B&D tools) to fit (took 5 minutes. Found on YouTube) and started drilling with a hammer drill a few minutes later. A hole in a really tough 3/8 thick ceramic flower pot that took 10 minutes with a regular drill bit took less than a minute with this tool when using the same carbide bit. Coupling fits over 4th masonry screw

I love this drill. For me it has great balance and the grip/trigger is perfect. This 620 is the third Porter Cable drill I own after 30 years at Milwaukie. I upgraded my first one to a PCC621 rotary hammer maybe 3 years ago, but the clutch failed after recent drilling and installing maybe 20"3" #12 wood screws.
