I was skeptical at first but the Wii I bought didn't connect properly to my video inputs. The converter arrived as stated. I hooked it up to my TV. The TV showed "No Signal". I knew it, I knew it wouldn't work. Ok it was cheap. And when I pulled it out of my TV's HDMI port, I noticed that I hadn't fully connected the converter to the Wii. I inserted a fork. HOORAY! Setting up is very simple, just plug in the supplied HDMI cable (nice bonus) and connect directly to the Wii and cable to the TV. Boom, it works! I had to set my Wii to 480i to make it work or it flickers and syncs with my Sony Bravia TV. Set to 480i it works great. So I think there is a conflict between the 480p output of the Wii (a first generation that also plays GameCube games) and the adapter. As far as I can tell the adapter needs a 480i signal as it wants to convert to 480p on its own. It then sends the 480p signal to the TV via the HDMI cable.
