I love this headlamp for cycling

Lightweight, super bright and long battery life. I really like the subtle and slow Pulse mode, which is great for sunset cruises.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Theft is free! - Sport

Great lighting options, I like that it doesn't blind others as it has two lights, a bright one facing the road and a medium one facing straight ahead. Also great is that I can easily remove it from my bike as I have had accessories stolen from my bike before.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Something different

simply good accessories

very light, easy to assemble. It gives a good result at night in low light, visible flash in daylight is not perceived at all, if this is your main focus, choose another, more powerful option. For the price and while it served its purpose, I wouldn't buy it again.

Pros
  • pretty impressive
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is good

Terribly unsafe design.

PDW completely missed the mark with this light. Instead of illuminating the road ahead, you end up with a bright 4ft by 5ft square on the sidewalk with total darkness outside of that square. It seemed incredibly unsafe so I only used it once. Never again. They advertise it as a feature of the light, but in my opinion this is an absurdly ridiculous design flaw. I used to love PDW products but I'm becoming skeptical.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Compatibility

Good beam pattern matches accessories

I like beam cutoff - can't stand the narrow pencil beams that most lamps seem to have. It's bright enough and lasts long enough for my short city trips. My main complaint is that the loading indicator is confusing. I plugged it in to charge and when I came back a few hours later the light was off. Thought the battery was dead. Luckily it was only disabled to save power, but I put a lot of effort into figuring it out.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Minor issues

Excellent headlight. Tried it out the same day, it was delivered and I'm very happy with the performance. Bought the first one to try and got questions from other family members as to why only one bike has such a good light. Order 2 more for other bikes. Good job Portland Design Works, really appreciate your quality and design. I should mention that I have had a Portland Design Works Hazard Zone taillight for over 5 years. I have had multiple taillights in the past but this is the best. Thisโ€ฆ

Reliable headlight, annoying battery indicator

Pros: Lightweight headlight, USB chargeable. The vertical cutoff beam works exactly as advertised, focusing most of the light onto the pavement and projecting a glare-free amount of light directly onto oncoming motorists. There's also a daytime flash mode that only illuminates straight-line light (and no part of the pavement). Definitely one of the best bike lights in terms of value for money. As a bonus, it fits perfectly on a Planet Bike fork mount (Portland Design Works doesn't make forkโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
