Great replacement for my 3500w alternator. I haven't started the generator for a year after "dry" running. When I primed it and tried to start it, the alternator kept almost spinning out and then spinning over and over again. Does not stabilize at stable speeds. I was about to take the carburetor out of my alternator and clean it for the hundredth time when I decided to see if I could find one at a reasonable price. Carburettor - great replacement with one caveat. My alternator had the choke rod bracket wrong. Luckily I was able to remove the assembly from the old carburetor and replace it. The new carburetor's choke has a plastic stem and was a bit tight. Also, the choke was not bolted to the stem like the old carb, but held in place by crimping a plate, which took a bit of skill to remove. The "old" linkage and plate fit perfectly and didn't have the stiffness of the new one. All in all, even with small…

The locking lever stayed in place when in the locking position. After you started the unit and removed the lever from the gasket, it was very loose and the lever and butterfly plate attached to it were free to move with the vibration of the generator. This allowed the throttle stick to move close enough to the propeller position for the unit to run rich instead of idling. I built a spring to hold the latch lever in the open position.
